about
BRS — Blouse Roumaine Shop
The source, advanced.
The idea crystallized in 2012. Adele appeared in Vogue wearing a Tom Ford remake of the Romanian blouse; around the same time, Hollywood icons — Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry — were seen in folk-inspired designs by Isabel Marant and Etro, echoing the embroidery of the Romanian ie and the Ukrainian vyshyvanka. Fast fashion soon followed, multiplying the image but erasing the origin.
The question was inevitable: if everyone admired the silhouette, why was the authentic original still inaccessible? Why not wear the true piece — the one created by the hands that hold the memory?
In 2013, we built the answer: a modern platform connecting global audiences to the true source — to the artisans who keep the heritage alive, to the natural materials, to the roots of real creation. Each garment is commissioned directly from master artisans, verified and documented from yarn to hand — designed to live now.
“Through La Blouse Roumaine, Henri Matisse revealed the timelessness of cultural garments — from the Romanian blouse to the Japanese kimono — proving that when form is honest and authorship is clear, beauty becomes eternal. His message to the world was later continued by Yves Saint Laurent, transforming folklore into high fashion.”
BRS continues that legacy — not by preserving the past, but by redefining the future of heritage. Each piece merges ancestral craftsmanship and natural materials with modern precision. The seams are hand-finished by traditional artisans — the true mediators of intangible cultural heritage.
These garments are more than fashion. They are investments in cultural equity and luxury fashion — not just brands. Created by hand, in limited editions or bespoke, using original embroidery patterns and natural fibers, each piece carries the mark of its maker. Their rarity, traceability, and cultural depth give them intrinsic and growing value — as wearable art and as living heritage.
This is artisanal luxury — fashion with roots, transparency, and authorship. A new kind of value: cultural, material, and emotional. This is the future of luxury. What BRS is
