Beige linen midi dress with black contrast embroidery, Podillia tradition
A straight-cut elongated dress in natural beige linen, finished with a tasselled belt that gives the silhouette its quiet drama. Black linen inserts frame the shoulders, creating a striking contrast against the warm base. A central slit at the neckline and a gathered ruffle at the hem add movement and depth to the piece.
The embroidery draws from an ancestral shirt pattern from the Podillia region of Ukraine. The geometric elements are not decorative — they are symbolic. In the original tradition, these motifs were stitched as carriers of life energy, strength, and protection for the wearer. The contrast of black thread on natural linen makes each symbol sharp, deliberate, and unmistakably present.
