Cross-stitch embroidered linen — Foberini, Ukraine
Cut from scarlet linen, the Evelyn is worked throughout in Ukrainian cross-stitch — the embroidery placed in deliberate composition across the shoulders, chest, skirt panels and hem border.
The motifs are large-scale rose bouquets with forget-me-nots in blue and foliage in deep green; the scale is unambiguous.
A vertical band of geometric cross-stitch runs the centre front, finished with a tie belt and tassel-and-bead pendant. Sleeves are full and gathered, narrowing at an embroidered cuff. The skirt falls to the floor with considerable volume.One size. Lightweight linen. Made in Ukraine.
